Prior to his death, Jesse Stuart donated 714 acres of land around his home in W Hollow to the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission. This land was to be preserved, as it is, for all to enjoy for generations to come. Here you can see where Stuart lived up to the time of his death as well as his ancestral homes which are all around the property. The preserve offers hiking and bird watching, but the full experience comes from taking one of the guided tours offered by local groups.
